One wild plant in the port asked the other one: “You who are older than me, tell me, what is that plant that climbs the side of that cargo ship?” And this is what the older one had to say: “I’m going to tell you a story that has become quite popular lately. This plant is native to the Mozambique Channel. She would remain there forever not disturbing anyone, if as usual a man had not interfered. There was a Catalan wise man named Joan Perucho. In 1981, he mentioned the plant in his book Occult Botany. According to this writer, the plant, a kind of a giant seaweed, had been discovered in ancient times by the Portuguese captain Damiâo Mascarenhas. Faced with the aggression caused by the presence of a filthy ship in those virgin waters, the plant had climbed on all sides of the vessel of the explorers and had brutally sank it. The problem is that she became fond of destroying ships. This 2020 she has reached ports where they had never seen her before, like this one in Barcelona, where you and I once sprouted and where we will soon be beheaded by a civil servant”.

Una rama de un matorral le preguntó a otra: “Tú que eres mayor que yo, dime qué es esa planta que trepa por el costado de ese carguero. Según este escritor, la planta había sido descubierta en tiempos remotos por el capitán portuguès Damiâo Mascarenhas. Ante la agresión que suponía la presencia de un navío inmundo en aquellas aguas vírgenes, la planta, una especie de alma marina gigante, reaccionó a la defensiva: trepó por todos los costados del navío de los exploradores y lo hundió. El problema es que se aficionó a destruir barcos. Este 2020 ha llegado a puertos donde nunca antes la habían visto, como este de Barcelona, donde tu yo brotamos un día y donde pronto seremos decapitadas por un jardinero municipal”.
