MEETING AROUND PATRICK McCRAY
The impact of the computer sciences on the arts, sciences and humanities


We are pleased to announce a day of discussions with Historian of Science, Patrick McCray. The meeting is organized by the Arts Sciences Intrumentation Language (ASIL) wing of the Institut Mediterraneen de Recherches Avancees, a new residency institute dedicated to investigating urgent connections between the sciences, arts and humanities. The discussions during the day are by invitation only, but there will be a public debate in the evening organized by Alphabetville and Zinc at the Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille as a ZANZIBAR initiative.

Presentation of IMéRA by Robert ILBERT, founder and president, and Emmanuel GIRARD-REYDET, executive director

10:30-10:50 Presentation by W. Patrick McCRAY, historian of science

10:50-12:30 Presentations by 5 participants, followed by group discussion.

Presentations (10 mn each) by :

12:30-14:00 Lunch and moderated discussion, followed by brief visit of IMéRA, weather permitting.

14:00-14:15 Synthesis of morning discussion by Roger Malina and Patrick McCray

14:15-16:15 Presentations by 6 participants, followed by group discussion.
