EXHIBITIONS : online and at the CFCE
In relationship to the Artmedia VIII symposium, 4 exhibitions are presented : two online exhibitions (on a permanent basis but limited by the validity of the urls to which they link) and two on site exhibitions at the CFCE during the time of the symposium (November 29th and 30th and December the 1st). * On line exhibitions
The goal, behind the very limited indications that we gave, the restriction to 5 links for the guest curators, 2 for the participants to the symposium, and the fact that we did not say "artistics" but "remarquable" sites, was the bet that by so doing would emerge the diversity and the richness of the creation with the Internet in all (or many of) its dimensions, "within" or "outside" what is usually called "art" or "artwork", redundancy being a "plus", the confirmation of a consensus toward a project.
In both cases, we have subjective selections, partial, and sometimes not completed in the case of the participants. From our point of view, the goal is achieved and we invite you to discover, browse and enjoy the works.
The choice of the 6 guest curators
We asked 6 persons, active in new media art and Net art, to select "5 sites and/or artworks on the Internet that he/she finds remarquable" and to describe briefly the reasons of their choices.
They are Pierre Bongiovanni, director of the CICV-Centre Pierre Schaeffer : Nathalie Magnan, teacher at the Dijon Art School, co-moderator of nettime.fr ; Christine Mello, Brazilian curator ; Anne-Marie Morice, director and editor of the online magazine Synesthésie ; Guillaume Paris, teacher at the Paris Art School ; Douglas Stanley, teacher at the Aix-en-Provence Art School.
The choice of the participants to the symposium
We asked the participants to the symposium and the moderators to propose two links : their own and "one site and/or artwork —and only one— that he/she finds remarquable" and to describe briefly the reasons of their choices.
